Eh Canada!
Would not live any where else in the world (unless I was uber rich and could buy anything I wanted). Even then I would only move for the winters.
What I love about Canada:
The diversity of culture and geography, the wilderness, fishing, the big city, the small town, hockey, Newfies, beer, the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival, the farmers' market, the CNE, Quebecers, PEACE....

Eh Canada!
I love how so many Canadians are on this forum. I myself am from Ottawa. Half Quebec, half Newf on one side. On the other I'm Norwegian.
What I love about Canada? The people, the music, the copious amounts of weed, did I mention the people? Oh and I hope I didn't forget about the weed.
BobBong, As if your from Canada. I've been here a while (on a different account, long story, nothing to do with the site) and never looked at what country you were from. Makes sense. Ottawa is a fantastic city IMO. I actually have never truely visited Toronto. I've been there many times. I've just never explored the city. What I like about Ottawa is that, you go downtown, and there is so many people you can randomly smoke with. Some of those dude's are a little too out of it for me personally, but then again, I'm probly a little too out of it for some, as we all may be to others. The grand majority of the people are fantastic, nice, helpfull, etc. A few sour apples, but honestly, where is there not?

Hi Bob!
Canada ROcks and yeah...those CONservatives are just dastardly! But hey, I think Dion may be just as bad.He has a poor opinion of pot, and has a very agressive anti-pot personality. He might decrim....but unlikely. I look at the Libs and think that historically they've said tons of stuff, but when it comes down to the nut, they are just CONservatives in red clothes!
The NDP have lost their perspective nationally, and the greens are just too socially conservative, but many of them agree that Marijuana could be of value in taxation terms.
Me...I've run for the Marijuana Party of Canada in 2 federal elections in Oxfordd County(100 km from you)(and recently municipally as well...although not with the party) and garnered some really good support...but it wasn't a 100% marijuana agenda, and I made some attempt to normalize things by adding the economic factor into the agenda, as well as a broad platform, with a strong left bend.(i guess that goes for the party itself...we are all radicals in one way or another that have been left out of the paradigm of political structure.)
I enjoy the forums tons...it's great to see the Canadian perspective alongside that of our US counterparts. It says a lot for the international lobby against the prohibition of pot.
I'm also a member of the Transnational Radical Party which has a very concerted effort, and is Ngo in General consultative status with ECOSOC of the UN. I urge people to make their opinions known, and to support their local Marijuana Party Candidates in their collective endeavours to bring Marijuana to the forefront of political change.

(hey...sorry for the damned near like quality of the preceding infomercial I have just posted! It is always a difficult thing to find a cutoff point! And I feel such a necessity to inform people of their choices that I can hardly contain myself!)

hey, that's cool you are so involved in politics. i am a little bit, and i try to stay up to date on issues. the recent announcement from Harper about taking ideas from the US when it comes to drug policy is chilling, huh. do you think he is actually going to be able to enfore stricter punishments, or will he face too much backlash?

YEs fuck Harper. everyone here should check out the link on my sig. and write your MP about it. No one here wants the gov. to tighten up the drug enforcement Right? The liberals and cons. are both on very uneven ground right now. The cons know they screwed up on the "clean air act" so there going to be cautious with w/e they put forward from now on.
and the liberals want to form government again. They know they need more of the Left vote to do it, so they have their ears open. to see whats up.
So writing to both parties will have a much larger impact than it normally does. And it always has a big one. The parties know the stat's behind letters. It goes something like this:
for everyone letter they receive 15 people wanted to write a letter and another 150 people agree with the letter
Each of this 150 people talk to 10 people on average about the issue, spreading their opinion
And the 15 people probably convert 10 people each
and so on.
So each letter ends up representing a lot of their constituency So they really matter. If a Con. MP gets 10 letters he'll be making a call. Trust me, i'm very into politics and very involved in them.
You do have a voice and it isn't just voting
Please take the time to write and the 51 cents it costs to mail it
Thanks
