Eh Canada!
Hiya BobBong! Figured I'd check out yer home here and say hello
As much as I appreciate yer help over in my world, maybe I can help prod this along a bit with ya!
Here's a relevant question regarding Canada... how are we going to get through to all those conservatives with head-up-ass syndrome? It really should be easy!
Here's my take:
ATTENTION "CONSERVATIVE" CANADIANS!!! Do not allow yourselves to be fooled by the misguided or self-serving and completely illogical rhetoric of marijuana prohibitionists!!! Anyone who preaches that they are morally opposed to the use or legalization of Cannabis, or who argues in favour of increased penalization for drug users or Cannabis gardeners, is absolutely confused, illogical and shamefully WRONG. It is immoral and counter-productive to criminalize Cannabis growing or consumption. It is immoral to imprison people for private, victimless, and often beneficial behaviour and choices. It is immoral to allow rights to be trampled, lives to be destroyed and ended, violence and greed and hate to proliferate while restricting access to God-given medicinal plants, arbitrarily discriminating between God's gifts. It is hugely immoral to enforce, support or increase a prohibition that causes far more harm than good. It is immoral to create and maintain a black market that gives control of billions-of-dollar industries to criminals because of illogical hysteria. It is morally WRONG and reprehensible to force drugs into schools and into the hands and veins of children by giving control over to criminals. It is unfathomably immoral to wage a misguided and counter-productive war, for such arbitrary and ridiculous reasons, against our own sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, parents and grandparents (especially those struggling with serious illness). It is SHAMEFUL. Conservative people not blinded by ignorance and propaganda must realize how wrong Cannabis (and other drug) prohibition is - and how much damage these prohibitions cause. If it isn't simply obvious to you, there's still no excuse - consult the Canadian Senate, the Fraser Institute, and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) (links at www.torontohemp.com) for clear and concise 'conservative' explanation of why drug prohibition is senseless. 'Conservatives' everywhere - Can you please see that prohibition IS our drug problem!?
Whaddya think?
All the best,
Dom

Eh Canada!
now all you need is a commercial kindred
I definately notice a difference since the conservatives took over. The cops are actually starting to bust people in BC! I'm from Ontario, but I live out in BC now and I arrived just in time for the cops to start cracking down on cannabis. Why don't they pay more attention to more dangerous drugs? Nobody is getting hurt when some guy grows a few plants for himself.

Hey Bob - I'm going to a show in Toronto on the 7th...you wanna come? Bring your wife/gf/date or whatever...we could toke a little beforehand...name of the band is www.myspace.com/rocketface I know the bassist kinda, and sorta know the rhythm guitarist. Think I might be on the list...
Anyway, about the conservatives. I was disappointed with our last election and I followed it closer than any other before... Last night, before dinner with my parents and some family from out of the country, I realized just how staunch a conservative my father is. And my brother voted NDP while my mum threatened to vote Christian Reform or whatever. I voted Liberal...but I don't keep up on politics as much as I should....just can't believe we all lived in the same home for 15+ years...lol

ah politics... i have a mixed family when it comes to that as well. my dad is a raging conservative, although i dont think he has ever openly admitted it. my mom used to be a conservative, but voted green in the last election cause she was pissed at all the other parties and the stuff they have done in the past, my stepmom voted liberal, and i voted ndp. i live in vancouver, and yeah, they sorta screwed bc up a while back, but why not give them another chance! the liberals have fucked bc in the ass in my opinion anyways, it's time for a change.
