atualy, to tell u the truth, ive seen it all over the cannabis boards, bongs atualy dont filter anything out, infact they put more shit into the smoke... i dont know how it happens, it could just be the fact that when they did the tests, they were smoking the resin out of the stem along with the bud.

Look at the bong water after smoking alot of weed. It's filtering out something. I imagine the difference in the high is mostly a function of setting, a bong will likely be smoked at home, sitting around talking. Not surprizing this would be a different high than smoking a joint at a party, or while driving around.

Ok, so my uncle, who I have the most respect for in the world, is a very heavy smoker, probably goes through 1/8 a day or more, and is almost always an "intellectual" high. He talks about philosophy and religion a lot, and I've probably seen him totally sober about 5 times my entire life. His weapon of choice is a little brass pipe w/ a screw-on top to cover the bowl for transport. He's a very efficient smoker, and never lets extra weed burn after his hits. what the fuck party guy?? bongs help filterout the tar and carcinogenics from the smoke and aint gona add anything unless you're using raw sewage.... back to the original matter...the unlce in question will probably get his interlectual high from the amount he smokes (ripping occassionaly on the lidded pipe) if you only smoke a bit its completely different than if you smoke till you you you're stoned cause then you've got everything you smoked still hitting you......bongs are fucking great tho....just get a piece then make a new bong when the one you've got starts to go off...

well...i've never felt the urge to drink water which was once clear, and is now black...

there is no thc in the water used to filter a bong: in that water is everything you dont want to be consuming
i had a friend once who swore pouring bong water over his crop helped them grow, when in fact there's nothing worse you could do. once he stopped this sick practice, i aggreed to pay for his herb.

if you wanna try it, i suggest a sink and some seriously strong mints are close by: with a joint sparked and ready...all will be needed.

Smoke is just very fine particulate. As the smoke passes through the water, some of it goes into solution with the water.

New here is the interesting part: Although THC is not very water soluble, neither is oil and resin and other smoke combustion byproducts. In fact, these are less soluble than THC. When you pass the smoke through the water, you lose more THC than you do contaminants, and so end up with a worse THC to contaminant ratio than by simply inhaling the smoke directly.

The result is that to consume an identical amount of THC, you have to inhale a LARGER amount of contaminant.

Don't be fooled.. bongs dont make smoke better for you, they just make it cooler and easier to handle.

As for the metal pipe creating a different high than a glass one or other devices.. id assume it is purely speculative. Human beings have an inbuilt part of thier thought process that allows them to physically experience things because they believe them, not because they are real. This is the basis of the placebo effect, and many tipes of psychosis.

What im saying is that the old guy probably just believes the metal pipe gives him a better high, and since he genuinely believes it, for him, it does.
