Green Dragon Question
Going to make some tommorow and had a quick ( and possibly stupid ) question about the baking of the buds .... you have to PREHEAT the oven to 325* then put the buds in right or just turn it to 325* and throw them in for the 4-5 minutes and let it heat up the oven for the 4-5 minutes?

Green Dragon Question
Very good question! I'm actually curious myself how this is done without screwing it up and also to maximize the total number of cannabinoid compounds. Different web sites list different values for vaporizing THC (365 F to 392 F). To make it even more complicated, some of the other cannabinoids vaporize at lower temperatures. I've even seen the range as low as 280 F. If you vaporize the THC, the weed will be worthless, and you might accidentally get high just from opening the oven door.
Some ovens have a temperature cycle. So for example, if you set the dial to 325 F it may actually heat up to 375 and then cool to 275, heat up to 375 again....
Some of the web sites for decarboxylation say that you can do it at lower temperatures for longer periods of time, so I'm thinking the best method would be to set the oven at 200 F and bake for a couple hours. Has anybody tried this?...

Green Dragon Question
Just to clarify for anybody new to this topic: this is for decarboxylation only (THCA conversion to THC). This is not for extraction (dissolving THC in alcohol or oil). If you put alcohol in the oven that will start a fire. The baking is only for the dry weed. Also another clarification: nobody uses rubbing alcohol or methyl alcohol to make green dragon because that will make you go blind. Only use ethyl alcohol (the kind that is in beer).

Green Dragon Question
if u want the most consistant temp, u need to let it preheat for 20 to 30 mins, this preheats the inner liner, racks, etc, and eventually stabalizes oven temp and the overswings are less harsh, yes, every home oven does have a temp over swing, when calibrating an oven, u calibrate the average temp... some ovens have tremendous 100F overswings, while others have 30-50F overswing, and then the speed at which it swings will be reduced greatly with good preheat... anything that bakes at or under 15mins is considered delicate baking and preheat is required for proper baking results, also consider the color of your pan if this is an electric oven, the darker the pan, the hotter its surface area, but if after preheating for 30 mins, insert items in oven when the heating indicator light turns off, this means that u will be above the set temp, when u open the door, temp will drop maybe 30 degrees or so, and this will put the actuall oven temp closest to the set temp for around the 4-5 mins... VAPE ON!
Vaporizer only, fire up the aromed now!
