hey i was in your exact position like 3 months ago, but i had never rolled a blunt before... i thikn i'd start with a philly, it was really easy for me to roll that first banana philly..
i'm gonna give you a quickstart manual :-P
1. lick the entire cone end of the blunt (might as well just stick it in your mouth and slobber all over it like it's a blowpop)
2. You don't need to wet the rest of the blunt yet, instead just wet a strip from top to bottom so that you have a moist part of the blunt to split with your fingers or preferably with a knife or razor.
3. Gut it out
4. Now lick the entire rap, front and back, inside and out (trying to make sure that the leaf stays attached to the blunt paper)
5. Remove the cancer paper (it's on the cone end of the blunt, between the blunt paper and the leaf, it's usually a darker brown color)
6. lay the paper on a flat surface and make sure it's still pretty wet and the leaf isn't falling off
7. Fold one end of the paper (long ways) creased over so that you have an edge to place the bud on, and it won't fall off because the paper is bent upward.

9. *most important* make sure you leave about an 8th of an inch of no buds for the end that you're going to pull from.
10. Roll the blunt with your fingers making sure that the end you're going to pull from is rolled TIGHT (don't even worry about rolling the top end of the blunt until you get the bottom rolled tight)
11. Once the bottom half inch is rolled nice and tight, slowly work your fingers up rolling to the rest of the blunt up (the middle and upper parts shouldn't be as tight as the bottom)
12. Once you have it wrapped, make sure you lick it real good to seal it, and then lick your finger nice a good and run your finger up and down the part of the paper that needs to stick well so that your blunt doens't unwrap.
13. *optional* Cook the blunt so that it won't fall apart.
14. Take the remaining weed and stuff it in yoru blunt (bottom and top) and pack it down with a pencil or something so that it's packed nice and tight.
15. Twist the top to close it off (if there's room), re-wet the blunt and and cook it again.
16. *optional* take a small piece of thick paper (business card thick or baseball card thick) roll it into a small cylinder, and stick it in the bottom of the blunt so that the pulling end doesn't collapse and it'll be easier to pull from.

practice practice practice, use tobacco first if you don't want to waste weed.

I've rolled about 5 blunts in my lifetime, but the last one I rolled about 10 mins ago was so bad that I gotta do somethin about it...and fast. Right now I'm usin swisher sweets, and splittin it then loading it is no problem, but after that, it all goes downhill. I get it all rolled up eventually, but when its time to smoke it, it burns down extremely fast, like someone usin a flamerower in a house full of pure wood fast.
