U.N. draft resolution orders Iran to halt uranium enrichment

Britain and France, backed by the United States, introduced a draft U.N. Security Council resolution on Wednesday that would order Iran to halt uranium enrichment immediately because it poses a "threat to international peace and security."

Russia and China have joined in demands that Iran suspend work on enrichment, the process that produces low-enriched uranium for power plants and also can make highly enriched uranium for nuclear weapons.

But both countries oppose a resolution under Chapter 7 of the U.N. Charter, which empowers the council to act against threats to international peace and security. They worry that it could put a diplomatic solution beyond reach by opening the door to sanctions or military action against Tehran.

They all are agreeing that it's a bad idea for Iran to have enriched uranium but Russia and China don't want to piss off Iran. Is that more/less a thumbs up for Israel to do what they need to?

Iranâ??s foreign minister has said that Russia and China had officially informed Tehran they would not support sanctions or military action over the Islamic Republicâ??s nuclear program, the Reuters news agency reports.

US allies urge direct dialogue with Iran
US efforts to form a new "coalition of the willing" that would impose sanctions on Iran over its nuclear programme are running into objections from European and Asian allies who say the Bush administration must first exhaust all diplomatic options, including the United Nations process and direct talks with Tehran

But no we cant have an open dialogue cause that would interfere with the PNAC plan..maybe The Decider I mean Iran can throw us some bird flu to distract us from the war, and our loving government can lock us down for our safety
