    Drying Techniques

well, so far i have set my lil BUDies in a brown paper bag in a window sill and that works fine, one day me and my growing partner decided to sample some early, even though the plant was only flowering, so we picked some and put it in the MICROWAVE to dry. the microwave works but it gives it a funny taste, kinda tastes like burnt grass, gross flavor. maybe because the chloraphyl isnt out of the greens yet? any suggestions to boost drying time?

the longer it takes to dry the better the buds will be...

best way imo is to put in a glass jar for a few weeks opening every now and again to allow new air

yea, dont use a microwave bcuz the thc will evaporate, if ur inpatient use a bag, but using curing (air tite glass) jars is the best way to make quality bud, and yea, open it for 2 or 3 minutes 2wice a day or so.

I dont know if this is a better way but I would say if you had to dry at the moment use the oven at low temps instead of the microwave. It seems the microwave would dry it out to fast and possibly destroy a lot of cannaboids too. It isnt the chlorophyll that is the problem cause that will stay in the plant no matter what. The only time chlorophyll is pulled out of leaves in plants is in the fall when the leaves change colors cause the plant absorbs a lot of it since the leaves will fall off and it just recycles it then.

If you put a bud in a paper towel or toilet paper tube, and put some toilet paper or cheese cloth over the ends and put it in some good airflow it will dry in about 3 days, still wont taste right, but it's about as fast as you can do it and still get some of the grass taste out. SOME of the grass taste. But it really does take weeks for it to be completely gone. I dry for about 10 days by hanging and then put it into airtight containers in the dark, for about 2 more weeks, and then you can start to tap into it. Another 2 weeks in the jars and it's truly ready, sometimes longer. But as everyone above said, the longer you can stretch out the drying process the better. It also requires time for THC to lose the water molecule that is attached to it in order to pass the blood-brain barrier in your skull. Until most of the THC does that it dosent work nearly as well for ya.

If you don,t want to fuck all your smoke up don,t......
    Micro it
    oven dry it
put it in a jar when it,s still wet

Put it iin a dark place where air is able to circulate (in a paper bag spread out with the end left open) is good.
Over a week to ten days is good to get as much cloraphyl out as posable giving a smoother smoke.

If you do want to force dry it to test it then don,t bother because light and heat distroys THC. It will be week and harsh and taste like a campfire .

The airing cupboard is the best way to force dry if you realy have to.
