I stongly urge you to watch the drummer in this strapping young lad video.

He is possibly one of my favorite drummers out there....

this song doesnt really show his full potential but it does show his insane speed...also this is not one of their better songs by any means....just want you to see what i consider fast double bass drumming.....also it repeats a little bit but try to watch it all!!! it's really rather good imo

Anyway....let me know what you think....good or bad leave comments and reasons....

He's fast, I'll give him that, but it's pretty simple and repetitive. There's more to playing the instrument than speed. Like a lot of guitar players who are really fast but can't come close to conveying the emotion that someone like Stevie Ray Vaughan, David Gilmour, or Jimmy Page can.

I've yet to see a drummer that can beat Peart. Then again, I haven't touched a drum in more than 20 years (fuck! That statement makes me feel old) so what do I know??

what you say is true!!! And I do completly understand and agree with you!!

However I feel as a band SYL do come together extremely well to convey alot of emotion!!
And as I said above that video was just to show his speed, and also that song was no where near on of their best.

I guess I just love the lyrics...as fucked up as they are I feel i can relate to them and I agree with their philosophy for the most part.

Did peart play for Rush?? I still haven't heard them....lol Was it Neil??? I've heard alot about him through this site....may have to check them out.

Peart is overrated... still good... so is Bozzi... good but way overrated. There are less well known and better drummers out there.
