so some teachers got suspicious of a school bus driver and got him to submit to a pee test. negative for alcohol, positive for mj. sad but these are the things that give mj a bad rap. like anything that alters one's state of being, i think the responsibility that goes with it shouldn't be taken for granted.

so really how many weeks must one be mj free so as not to worry of getting thc on a pee test?

Everything differs from person to person, depending on how fast your metabolism is and how frequently you smoke. 2-6 weeks, 4 being normal I guess. How does it give MJ a bad rap? I know advertisements a couple years back had some strange statistic, like 50% of all people involved in fatal car crashes tested positive for marijuana. It did NOT say these people were under the influence, but that's what many who saw the commercial were led to believe. The bus driver might have been clean as a whistle during the day, and only partaken in a little puff puff at night. Does not mean he was putting the kids at risk, just that he had smoked pot (maybe even only ONCE) in the weeks leading up to the test.

I don't think the incident itself gives MJ a bad rap. Rather, people will use the incident to continue to espouse the evils of Marijuana. Fucked up mob mentality. Yet, when school bus drivers get caught drunk WITH kids on the bus, you don't hear anything about alcohol sales.

I've tested in as little as 3 weeks after smoking and passed. That was for my current employer. I was nervous as hell. The lady told me to go to the office to do the test and I tried to stall but it had to be done so I could get into the training class. So I rush down there, nervous as hell. I take the test and it was funny b/c while in the bathroom, the cheap plastic cup breaks! Urine is dripping on me and I'm telling the nurse but she's like, "We have to use THAT sample, you can't retake it". If it would have come back negative, I would have used that incident to ask for a retest. But I think it does depend on the person. My brother in law has to stay clean for like 2 months in order to pass.

LOL. that's funny man. i think i'll read up on some one-step test kits and practice holding a cup.

the driver supposedly showed signs of being under the influence on several occassions. its all about how media spins incidents like that - nothing comes out except ill-deserved rap.
