Whenever I can, I like to use this little setup I like to call the 'Trip Station':
I have stereo sound system setup all around my bed-head, linked to my Discman so I can use it even when there's a blackout. I have candles all round my room and I light incense, usually Nag Champa or Dragon's Blood. I kill all the lights (except for the candles, of course) and open the window so my tiny fuckin' room doesn't get stuffy.

It's pretty cool sorta system. I just lay back and chill.
