I am home from school today due to a rock slide in the canyon:dance: ... anyways, I stumbled upon this illusion and am wondering why this happens? Can anyone explain it?

it's kind of hard to explain, but it has to do with colors that are always there, we just don't see them.
damn, I know we went over this in my color class last semester...
shoulda shown up I guess...lol
but when you look at that black dot, your pheripheral (sp) vision sees the green you normally wouldn't see.
I really wish I woulda paid attention.
but that's the best I got.

woah, i diddnt look at the directions so i thought it was pretty lame at first. But then i concentrated on the X in the middle and all the purple dots went away. WTF?!?!

I think is somethin to do with a blind spot in your eye, not really sure though

and the canyon wall in front of about 50 yard
exploded and madness came crashing down

Well I live in a town called El Portal right near Yosemite, and I got a call from a friend this morning saying that there was a rock slide about 20 miles up the road, but he wasn't sure if there would be school or not. I called the CalTrans number and sure enough, the road was closed. I went down to my bus stop and no one was there, so here I am, at home. I don't know much more about the slide though- but I'll find out tommorow at school, if it is cleared by then I'm off to watch Johnny Damon return to Fenway- peace
