airplane travel HELP!

aright so heres the scoop. im going to be going to Europe for the month of July this summer. I am going with my whole family, brothers, mom, granparents...i am wondering that if I happen to find a pipe over there, and perhaps a lighter(zippo or nice torch) that i like, will i be able to bring it back to the US? should i keep it in my carryon bag?my luggage?my pocket?it wont have been used, because i dont want resin in it yet for sure.by the way im underage, 16, so please give me any and all help, i really wanna get a pipe and nice lighter while im there. well if you get a pipe overseas and bring it back with no resin in it, you're good.
Lighters, however, they do take.
A buddy of mine lost an 80$ zippo that way.
No lighters.
Pipes and whatnot are good as long is it's not been smoked out of.

Just to be safe, get some pipe tobacco to carry with it.....may avoid the whole search gig if they do check your bag.

zippo's suck for smoking weed (incase that's why you want one) unless they're the pipe zippo's that have a hole in each side of the wick-guard, and a torch lighter will burn you through your weed so quick it's not even funny.... i wouldn't waste too much money on a lighter over there i'm nto sure if they will let you go with it (before this, i never knew you weren't allowed to have lighters) but i guess you could always try to put the lighter, (if it's a zippo, then the box that goes with the zippo, if its a torch lighter, find a small box) put some tape, and some wrapping paper all in a little bag, inside your luggage, and if they ask, the lighter is a gift you promised to get a friend while on your trip... they might let you slide on that...

No resin in the pipe, and no fluid in the lighter..you should be fine. Just so your explaination for having both is ok with mom and pop.

What they said.As long as theres no resin in the pipe then its just considered glass art.Now with the lighter i dont see airport security stopping you just because of it plenty of people come throughthe air port with lighters every day.

ok thanks guys, one more question though, should i keep the resin free pipe in my pocket? or in my bag? it wont set off the metal detector?, and other than that they wont know i have it on me right?because my parents and grandparents finding out i have a pipe on me is NOT a possibility, you know how that is...
