People concerned about immigration issues are deciding whether to join a walkout tomorrow.

An organization called Resource Center of the Americas is promoting tomorrow's event, calling on people to walk out of their classes and jobs to highlight the importance of immigrant workers and students. Fearing a backlash, boycott activists aren't making demands.

Spokeswoman Teresa Ortiz says there are people who have made up their minds not to go to work and have talked to their employers. But her message to people afraid they'd get into trouble with their bosses is don't risk causing any problems at work.

The walkout is a follow-up to marches earlier this month that drew attention to the congressional debate over illegal immigration. The so-called "Day Without Immigrants" is intended to show how immigrants contribute to the US economy.
