Anxiety?
Hey guys,
I didnt know where to post this so mods feel free to move this if u feel its in the wrong section or i would get better help else where,
Right for the last few years but more recently i get bouts of anxiety - if thats the correct word to use - i get it when i think of doing something, like going to the pub, or thinking about when im not incontroll of my self, or anything i cant really put it down to one thing.
I feel slightly trembly (sp?) my hands just shake and i find it hard to concetrate, it can last up to 10mins its not daily, and dont go on for ages, its not seriously bad i just get a bout of fear and i dont like the fact im not incontroll of my self even thought i am. I can calm my self down eventually - it sounds worse then it is, things like this are hard to put in words - but i would like to know how to stop these feelings.
Isit anxiety?
Or a anxiety disorder?
I no longer smoke because i like to be incontrol of my self now
I found meditation helps too but this seems to be a tempory relief.
Any1 who had any experience with anything similar to this? Please any info is gd, it also helps 4 me to talk about this to ppl and i find it easier to talk 2 ppl on the net about this rather then ppl i know because im scared of the misconceptions and judgements i might get,
If u think this is too much to read then pls dont cos im sure u would be no help to me.
any help is appreciated
Also as of next week i will take St Johns Wort on advice from the internet articles ive read, any1 got any experiences? or advice?

Anxiety?
Well it sounds like some sort of anxiety for sure, but since no one here is a doctor, just go have it checked out to be safe.
I do know what you're talking about with the symptoms though. There is a history of mental illness in my family, and I also experience short bouts of anxiety. My deal is that I just worry about things I have to do, whether its turning in a paper or going to a wedding. My mind will just totally focus on those upcoming events and make me question every little thing. And if I'm at a really busy and hectic point in my life, I too feel overwhelmed and out of control. My mind just takes over and I analyze things way too much while the rest of the world seems to pass on by. Those things I have to do or had planned on doing are constantly on my mind. It's a total involuntary thing too, like I don't just sit down and start worrying. So I know where you're coming from, but at the same time, I don't think my anxiety is quite as severe as yours just yet. So if you're still having trouble, just go see a doctor and tell him/her exactly what you told us. Hope that helped man.

It's obvious that you have an underlying problem that was being medicated by the pot.

Well if it's not that bad now, don't risk it getting worse, because it easily can. All you need to trigger your anxiety is something bad happening in your life, whether its a death or you lose your job or whatever. Then you might lose complete control of yourself. My dad was like that. He lost his job a couple years ago, then not too long ago he ran out of money, then a month or so ago he tried to committ suicide. Don't wait too long is all I'm saying.

I smoked pot daily and things were cool up until recently my highs were shit so i quit and since ive quit ive had about 15 bouts of "anxiety" in the last 3 months, ive smoked weed since quitting and it dont seem to help because im not always anxious - not everyday i get it for like 10mins when im thinking of something. so i wouldnt know if the pot was helping me cos i havent smoked when feelin anxious as i wouldnt want it to make me worse.

can you change docs?
If you have a doctor you don't feel comfortable around then you won't tell them everything they need to know and you don't get cured like you should.
Bedside manner is highly underrated nowadays, being a good doctor is more than knowing how to cure people, it is knowing how to talk to people and being open to them so you can work together to fix your health. You should feel like your doctor cares about you (at least a little) so you can feel secure with his treatment.

Anxiety?
also over the counter type herbal daily supplements might be usefull (herbist's out there correct me if im wrong) valerian root is a anit-anxiety that helps me cope with anxiety. kava kava extract in capsule forms helps me, the medicinal fiji kava i get is for bed time but the capsules from any local grocery/health store will have these. my beleif is that everyone has anxiety some more than others, it's all a matter of how you deal with it.
and yeah, i would change my doc if i were you, find sum1 who feels the same way about meds as you. the last thing you want is to be stuck with a doctor who say's you are fine when you are not. "awwww, dosnt sound too serious to me, take these placebo's and call me in a week" horse shi*
