    Is marijuana addictive? Personal experience

when i quit at the beginning of last summer, i didn't have any trouble for a few days, but i didn't smoke the entire summer and the cravings didn't go away ever. but then again, i would smoke everywhere i went so everywhere i went i thought about something i had done there involving getting high.

but i could still control it. i had weed stashed away that was leftover from when i quit, but i never got into it to smoke it until the end of the summer when i started again.

my tolerance built up wicked fast again after that too, and i've only taken one weeklong break since september, and that week off didn't bring my tolerance down much

This is the point I'm trying to make.

You can't be addicted to heroin and, just, find something else to do.

"Heroin is an addictive drug, and its use is a serious problem in America. Recent studies suggest a shift from injecting heroin to snorting or smoking because of increased purity and the misconception that these forms are safer."

You can substitute Cannabis for Heroin, in that paragraph. In fact, that's what you are all doing.

But, you can't substitute it in this one:

"Heroin abuse is associated with serious health conditions, including fatal overdose, spontaneous abortion, collapsed veins, and, particularly in users who inject the drug, infectious diseases, including HIV/AIDS and hepatitis."

    http://www.nida.nih.gov/Infofacts/heroin.html

Just keep on saying that Pot's addictive, you have as much knowledge as the "outlawers" of Pot did in the 1930's.

That's a tough one. Heroin became a problem in my hometown. One of my better friends was in and out of rehabs for years. As people evolved through their problem, they knew that they wanted to substitute Pot for Heroin. They'd have no problem, until, they started itching.

Well, that's the beauty of discovering drugs.

    More importantly, Herb.

Addictive ppl will get addicted - to anything.

Whenever I feel I might be getting addicted I stop. And when I'm satisfied I start again. Simple truth is that weed CAN be as addicting as heroin - if you have that personality. On the other end of the joint ppl who have very strong wills have actually found heroin to be non-addictive, despite that it is addictive chemically.

All I say is if u gonna be addicted to something, rather let it be weed than heroin.

Like I mentioned earlier, I always felt that it is what you let it become. For me, I think it's more of a mental addiction than physical. Even then, it's not something that can't be handled.

Like now, I smoked my last bowl last night cause I have some stuff coming up. So when I get home tonight, I'll be jonesin and won't be able to go to sleep. Typically, I'll just play video games all night and can usually fall asleep around 2 or 3am. After that first night, I'm usually good. Even once when I took a break after smoking for 4 years straight, it only took about 2 days for me to 'normalize' and get back into a routine. Mind of matter....
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.
