I'm using one of the 42 watt ones and it does work as long as there's air flow.

I just received two of the 23-watt CFL Air Purifiers ... 23-watt draw, 100-watt equivalent, red spectrum ... built-in ionizer, ... I put both into my 2'x4'x8' cabinet, and yes, they DO work ... I have four plants in veg right now, going into flower in another week or so, (3 plants are NYCdiesel and SAGE, stinky) and these lights definitely work ...
