Slider/carb idea

Slider/carb idea Okay i was sitting there about to make my new bong which when its done ill post picks (SICK) and i thought what if i combined the process of the slider and the proccess of the carb and made the Plug. the plug is this.......What if i drilled the hole for the carb but didnt put my thumb over it but put something that would fit in the carb hole that was airtight but still be able to slide it out. kinda like a slider kinda like a carb ....what do you all think?. How about a valve next to the bowl on the downpipe? Twist, air goes through the downpipe, twist again and it goes through a hole in the downpipe? Trouble is, though, that'd take some plumbing knowledge.

It'd be nice to buy 'em like that, though. Also, how about a one-way valve somewhere in the middle of the downpipe so you can fill your bong as high as you want?

One-way valves should come standard on pieces, PERIOD! It's so frustrating to slip in your self-control and cough your smoke back through the pipe and waste a fucking bowl!

you are both smart people, but i would go with penguines idea, on both of them, the one way and the twister idea.

What you are referring to is called a check valve... I know of none that are small enough... Also it would have to be spring loaded as water will escape a regular check valve because there is not enough back pressure of water to close it... Also if it did close a small amount would escape first... I will look in Home Depot for a viable solution and post it if I find it...

please do skink, now im interested, you could revolutionize smoking if you were able to find a suitable one-way check valve that is small, easily integrated into bongs/pipes etc, and there might even be a way to rig one so that it doesnt get resinated and cause leaks, which would be my main concern.

the stem is a great idea but what if you COMBINE the stem, and the valve idea.

have a valve at the bottom of the stem, that way you still have all the benefits of the stem, plus you cant blow-back and soak your weed, that would be NICE.

no i know what your talking about...
a baked idea i had a while back was to somehow integrate water bottle tops like the ones you just pull or twist to drink through, gatorade sport type things. i always thought that would work:thumbsup:
