do you realize that this "theoretical world that has no concept or idea of money" would suck ass... money is what drives technology, do you think ford would've bothered to churn out cars off a factory line if he wasn't going to get any money out of it? do you think anybody would even bother to have manufactured the lightbulb if it were free labor and free to use? basically, what i'm saying is there would be nothing available to drive society and motivate them to progress... i think the idea of money or "exchange" is innate in culture.. if there were no drive or motivation (i.e. money) we'd be living in the stoneage making your own tools and gardening outside one of your own self-built houses. money or trade or exchange is necessary and i wouldn't have it any other way...

As "tribes" and "peoples" grew larger and smarter they needed some way to regulate all of them on one level. Make a system of values, a system of worth.
