I want to top a plant tell me how

So I've got three two week old plants, maybe not quite that old. I've read here that you can top after they get their fifth nodes. So a node is where each set of leaves grow from on the main stem right? And when you top you just cut off whatever is above the top node, or you actually cut off the top node?

You can top a plant by just breaking or cutting the top part off. Leave some green leaves on the plant and cut just above the node where new shoots are coming off the stem. These new shoots will become the top of the plant. Now if the part you cut off is long enough you can root it (called cloning) and grow another plant identical to the first. Are the plants too tall? You can also bend or snap the stem and get the plant to grow sideways. This lets you get the light closer to the stem and will make the plant grow bushier. If you are growing indoors where light is an issue I would do this. This is the best use of fluoros.

Crispy... If you are going to top you plant... You should definitley turn the top into a clone... That top part of the plant is so strong and always makes the best clone...

You will need to cut 2 NODES off... and then stip the branches of the bottom nodes... Then put that clipping in a piece of rockwool or some grow medium...

It would be a shame top cut the top off a plant and not use it as a clone..

Cool, thanks. I will try to clone the top when I top it.
