250 Watt HPSI was wondering how many plants I could grow off of a 250W HPS light? I was thinking two but I've seen people growing two off of a 125W, so I have no idea. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 Thanks,

250 Watt HPSyou can grow 1
 or you can grow 6

It all depends on the size of the plant..

 Personally I would grow 6..
AND you should FLOWER them when they are about 6-10 inches tall..

 No taller...

250 Watt HPSA 250 watt light has very little penetration... so if you gro small plants you will get a few nice BUDS!!!

if you grow plants thant are TALL
you will get one nice bud and a bunch of "POPCORN" buds.... yikes

250 Watt HPSTry low stress training as well, this will spread the plant out, allowing more light to hit the bud sites and keeps the plant shorter.

250 Watt HPSIve recently changed from a 600w HPS to a 250w HPS, just to sort out the heat issue. The heat is now perfect, apart from at night where it drops a little bit more than Id like, but fuck it.
If you get a 250w, Id also get a load of mylar to completely line your walls with aswell. With a 600w in a closet the mylar really doesnt make much difference, but if you want some decent results, invest a tenner in a few metres of mylar.

250 Watt HPS150 would be better because of the heat the 400 would create. If you can set up some intake and exhaust fans, then go ahead and get the 400 watter.
If I were you, Id get a 250w instead - the heat wont be that different from the 150, and it provides better penetration. Anything under a 400w in that space though, and youll wanna line it with mylar so it reflects all the light. NO TIN FOIL!!!
Oh, and Ive mounted a 600w HPS on its reflector, and then hung the reflector by a couple of hooks to a wooden shelf before and its been fine. For better heat dissipation though, youll wanna get some chain from a DIY store, only costs about £1.50 a metre.

250 Watt HPSShould I go ahead and get a 400Watt HPS? I have nothing set in stone right now I'm just trying to do all my research before I start buying all my materials. Six plants would be nice, but I'm planning on doing an enclosed closet system thats only 5'x4'x2.5' (approx). Maybe a little bit wider, but I think 2.5 ft is as deep as I can go because of closet restrictions. Would this be enough room to grow six plants? There is only going to be four feet (abo) of growing room because I'm going to have a clone/germ chamber underneath and also the hydro reservoir.
 Thanks

250 Watt HPSYou can use a 400 in that space if you have enough ventilation. Have you considered how you're going to exhaust the heat? Will you use an air-cooled hood? You have to calculate these and probably more details into your decision.

You can get better results with fluorescents in smaller spaces. Fuorescents don't need much space above the plants like HID lights. There's less heat problems too. T-8 flourescents are good for growing and are cheap.

250 Watt HPSThats another thing I was going to ask, could I accent a 250 Watt HPS with some vertical flourescents along the sides? I plan on ventilating adequately so I shouldnt have any problems there. Any posts made by me are purely fictional in nature and by no means is anything I say to be taken seriously.
