Salvia
I'm interested in checking out some salvia. My friend believes she may have it in her garden. I have two pictures she sent me, and verification would be excellent. I can always ask her for more pictures too.

Salvia
I believe sage (salvia officialis) looks the exact same as salvia divinorum, and a quick google image search confirmed this. The only way to know would be to pack 3 or 4 leaves in a bong and hit it, hold the smoke in for a good long minute, and try to do that 4 times. Also, use the hottest flame you have, since salvia vapourizes at 240*C.
Salvia is a beautiful plant and a wonderful introspective ethnogen, but it is by no means meant to be fun.
"Salvia is an aid for inner exploration and meditation. It is not a "party time, let's get high" substance. If you approach it as such, it may just kick you in the butt and slap you senseless for such disrespect."

If I was going to consume them, I was planning to roll the leafs into the "cigars" and chew on them for 10 minutes or so, and then start another "cigar." I've read that this is pretty efficient. I've been doing a lot of reading, and am pretty interested in trying salvia, and have a good idea what to expect. Thanks for the tips, I'll check it out. Would I just be smoking the dried out leaves?
And I apologize if this thread's in the wrong place. I wasn't really sure where to put it.

salvia is pretty rare. it does however have many genetically similar "subspecies". In other words, if you find one growing by accident in a garden it is probably related but it's not actual salvia divinorium

"Salvia divinorum is a species of sage (the genus Salvia). There are approximately 1000 species of Salvia worldwide, but Salvia divinorum is the only vision-inducing species known. "
Heres a very useful guide I found.
