 PHIt's very important you know what's happening in your medium before you place things in it. Even if you're using litmus paper, it's better than nothing.

 yes, checking your PH is VERY VERY important.. you may just be fortunate and live in an area that has water with a PH of 6.0-7.0
 
 But you should definitley check it... If PH problems occur they can drastically reduce your yield..

 PHok so i bought one of those soil test kits the ones with the tube and the pill. well i did what it told me but i couldnt get a good read on the color but it was a kinda yellowish green clear if that makes any sence the color chart siad dark green was akaline green neutral yellow acid and dark yellow very acidic what the hell is my ph

 PHyeah.. forget those PH kits.. get one that has drops that you mix with a sample of the water... don't worry about the soil... unless you are growing outside.. JUST TEST your WATER

 PHthe oen i bought u took a sample of the soil mixed with this green pill u open up and dump in and add water and no it is not outside

 PHYES absolutley... this is the most important element.. I am sorry if I was not clear about that before.. 
 
 you want to test the water...
 
 the water is the vehicle that delivers the food to your plant... If the water is not 6.8 PH .. then your plant can't eat the food..
