    When to transplant

Ok, so with other strains I've been able to transplant to HPS right away, or even start under HPS. But, the lowryder seems to be a bit more delicate. Could I get away with transplanting a seedling that sprouted yesterday to the HPS if it's 24 inches away? Or further away? I really wanna get it into the hydro ASAP so I can get the best possible growth.

I don't know about lowrider genetics, and if it's worked for you before, cool...but I would let some more roots develop and the plant get stronger before pulling a just-emerged seedling. I read somewhere that a rule of thumb is to transplant when the plant is as tall as the container it's in. It seems like with a small lowrider plant you can skip middle transplants and go straight to a final container. OR if you have more seeds, start them in their final containers. It sounds like you're only a few days into the grow.

I caught that you're doing hydro...no experience there, sorry. Have you tried the hydroponics forum?

The hydro is a non issue, it's whether it can handle the HID lighting yet that's that question. Oh well, I put one seedling in and waiting on the other. I'll soon know the answer.

It's been under for about 2.5 hours, seems to be doing fine and getting a small amount of growth. Should know more in the morning or even later tonight.

Well, I'd say that lowryder needs a bit longer under cool white flourescents. The one that stayed under the flourescents totally pulled ahead of the one under HPS, and they both popped above the soil on the same day. I'll let them get some strong true leaves first. I guess the lowryder cotyledons aren't very efficient under HPS.

But, the net pot for the one that I put under HPS was small enough to move to my mini green house, and the HPS one is growing rapidly again under flouros
