New bike
Diamondback isn't a bad brand. It'll have entry level components and such but should be ok for riding around town and mellow trails.
Don't be too quick to rule out a second hand bike though. I picked up a nice 2nd hand Stumpjumper a while back for $250. That bike kicked ass and was well worth what I paid for it. I probably put 1000+ miles on it before it was stolen.Fengzi Reviewed by Fengzi on . just look for a used one from someone that lives close too you so you can look it over(take it to a bike shop to get it checked out). You will find a better deal most likely.....if your only gonna ride it for a bit thhough just wait cause the resale price will drop alot

get a used one and just spend the extra on better parts. Id get some disc brakes and better front suspension. Downhill can be intense!
