I'm not sure what you're trying to do, as far as location constraints, etc. but 240 watts is a TINY load. Hell if there's a stream nearby you could run way more than that off of a car alternator and a small water wheel. Most car alt. are over 100 amps @12V or 1200 watts. Solar is pricey, but I've seen solar battery chargers for cars that are like $20. It may take a few of those, but it won't be as much $$ as a good generator.

Generators can potentially cause some serious damage to a grower's hardware.
Other than stealing juice, the only viable, free, alternative is...sunlight.

Stealing power ,,,, new system on the grid make it easy to find you. BUT the 2 felonys make it realy not worth while.
NOTE the new substation controls have a demand time. So if you use timmers it put a running chart of use.
Note they will use a phase, pattern/ chart to find you.
Its actualy real simple to track bootlegg thiefs, and the power company never looses.
OOPs forgot all new meters are polling and they know exactly how much power you use (down to the mil.second) .
When watching tv, use you dryer, ac on off hours, to save money.
Ever wonder how they know ???
When you pay your power bill on time, they realy do not care.
But steal power and your friend in jail may be Ready Watt.
Note photo galvoinic, wind power have yet to make $1 Thats ONE Dollar, in savings, but thats only in 20 years. Look to the future reguardless of the cost.
Fact gas needs to get to $10 a gallon for the new hybred cars to break even and must be driven 60,000 miles a year.
If you have a real good gen system, and large you can make power for about 14.8 cents per kwh. Gas turbind is around 18 cents per kwh. Bi Cyc turbine/boiler tube is a few cents less.
I do not think small systems come even close to the KWh cost.
OHMS WATTS

2 120w lights isn't worth bothering with stealing power for, just plug them in, they use less power than your 27" TV or your destkop PC.
