Adrenochrome is a red pigment obtained by oxidation of epinephrine.

no adrenalin is epinephrine, the body's fight or flight hormone. adrenochrome is different and is nothing like it is on fear and loathing.

chemically adrenochrome is a prerequisite to epinephrine, if the urban myths are true then you have to extract it directly from the gland, that way it isn't metabolized into the other chemicals like adrenaline.
