questions about plant food and water.
I'm not entirely sure on those grow sticks -- if they're what I think they are, slow release stakes, then don't use them. You're better off with powdered water soluble Miracle-Gro if that's the case.
I bought like.. five freaking pounds of three different Miracle-Gro fertilizer products [ 30-10-10; 15-30-15; 10-52-10 ] and a ten pound bag of Ironite [ for trace elements ] for under fifty bucks. Enough nutrients to last two years. They've done good so far.
About the Ironite. It's great, turned plants of mine that suffered micro nutrient deficiency around quick, cannabis and otherwise. The problem is, though.. it has lead, arsenic, and cadmium in their raw mineral states that aren't readily available to the plant, but will be present in the soil at low levels. Studies have been made and concluded that the product is safe as long as it's not directly consumed. I've done dozens of litmus paper tests on .5 liters of pH balanced R/O water and 3/8th teaspoons of Ironite -- results came back with a rise in the water hardness to just below 300 PPM and a lowering in the pH by about ~.5 which can probably be attributed to the only NPK value Ironite has, 1% of urea nitrogen. Other than that it's hard to deny the fact it's got nearly every necessary micro nutrient save boron and copper, but those are covered with any cheap MG fertilizers, like those I mentioned.
Miracle-Gro and Ironite are great, but not the best. It's easy to burn a plant with Miracle-Gro if you're not careful, but Miracle-Gro can also be used to grow some hellacious buds if you're willing to experiment with it and some basic micro nutrients for fillers.
Although I can get it over with now and just suggest you go and buy something like GH Flora 3-Part, or some AN product, maybe Fox Farms.
You're going to probably read that more than once. LoL
