Soil VS Hydro
I argue otherwise that you get a better taste from organic, soil grows. Although it probably depends mainly on personal preference.
I was pro soil until I tried hydroponics. Now there is no turning back. It was the fastest growing, most healthy, high yielding, resinous plant I've grown. Also seemed much easier, less stressful and more responsive than growing in soil. The vegetable matter has virtually no smell but the caked on resin absolutely stinks. End product is much more potent and tastes a lot better than the soil grow with the same strain. If it wasn't a clone then I would swear it was a completely different strain. Also had a much higher bud to leaf/stem ratio with hydro.

I totally agree on the "more responsive than growing in soil" bit. I don't think yield are that much higher with hydro, I just think that people who are succesfull with hydro can have the same results with soil. And about the taste part, yes it's totally a matter of taste.

I think it was Latewood who had a thread/FAQ experiment on another website which directly compared soil and dwc. It was a fantastic read. Hopefully, if it was him then he can post a link or submit it to this site.

I know a guy on another forum who harvests 1.25 grams per watt on his plants (growing organic on soil). I didn't meet a hydro grower yet who achived yields that big. But I'm hoping to find it in this thread.

Surely we will find people who harvest more than 1.25g per watt doing hydro on this site. I think we just have to wait for others to login and post.
On my first hydro grow/experiment using an average of 53Watts of CFL over the entire grow I got over 1 gram per watt. The harvest was also bone/snap dry and well manicured.

Like this, One plant 3.5 pound dry, trimed buds?
Yup they are old pictures but they still make the point. Hydro does grow faster and yield more if you know what you are doing.

Zandor, what huge plants you got!

Why grow such large plants when you can use that space for a lot more plants? Plants that large only mean that it takes longer to grow = less grows per year.

Less PLants means that you are probably not breaking the LAW...
LOVE
Even if your ONE plant is giving you more bud than 40 plants!!
