I'm in the process of doing this same thing myself. Often times if you go to a recruiter and say hey i messed up and want to straighten up and i think the military will help me do that, the recruiter will make a deal with your prosecutor. You'll do your 4 years in the military, and the charges will be dropped.
The best part of this deal is, the charges are dropped, you have a job and a place to live for the next four years, they will pay for college, and time served in the military looks good on job applications and pretty much everywhere else in life. There's really no beating that deal. The only down side is, if you dont want to join the military, you're stuck for 4 years.

I'm trying to get a 2nd degree felony dropped before I go to trial.

Good luck to you, Sir. I hope it all works out.
