tachycardia
I know it's normal for weed to temporarily increase your heartbeat during the come up of the high - usually for me it subsides after 20-40 minutes into the high, in which I get that usual stone-relaxed-i-feel-really-good feeling. However, one night I did a particularly larger-than-usual bong hit and (besides getting really high), my heart starting pounding after 40 minutes into the high...and kept on pounding. I tried laying down and riding it out, but I kinda started getting nervous when I looked at my clock and my heart was still going on full throttle 2 hours later. Sometimes it would stop for a second and then start up again. My state of mind didn't seem to have any effect on it and the tachycardia did not start to subside until after 4 hours later.
Is it normal with high doses (and potent weed) for this to happen? Can different strains also do this? I've been smoking for about a year and this is the first time this has ever happened. It wasn't a completely horrifying experience (hey I didn't die right), but it was kind of uncomfortable.

I'm pretty sure it isn't laced. I think I just did too big of a hit. I smoked a little less a few times afterwards and it didn't happen again. It's pretty easy to over do it with my bong - my bowl is a lot bigger than most bowls and can probably hold a couple of grams (finely grinded.) It's hard to gauge how much I'm smoking at one time; sometimes I end up smoking almost all of it in one shot.

Shit man, I'd say you were imagining things. I remember when I was high as heaven (hell wouldn't make much since
) once, I put my hand on my heart, and it literally felt like it was at least 200bpm. I say it's all in the mind, at least with my experience.
