I am not a Tool fanboy, but even if this is their worst album ever. It's still Tool, which means that its STILL a hell of alot better than alot of other crap out there.

oh right fucking on. as the one dude mentioned that they have mastered their art, they really have. the guitar is moving, great bass, sick drums, its all gravy. im listening to aenima now, and i hope 10,000 days is atleast somewhere close to as good.

Tool have never sounded so bad (Or bad at all, up until now.) and I don't like it. This post explains my dislike for the album. It's far from unlistenable, as it blows shit out of most of the other crap that's out now but... Tool is one of those bands that just don't know when to stop and realize that their music is starting to suck... like Korn.

Appearntly, you don't understand that I'm talking about musicality... The sound of the album is great for you cause you're a Tool fan boy and think it's a natural progression for Tool's sound. (If you're actually a fan that is)
Unfortunatly, the new album sucks and it isn't a natural progression... it's a forced progression. "Hey, we can't think of anymore ideas... so lets try and make our muisic more technical!1" ... "Yeah, remember how everybody made a big deal about the Fibbinochi part in Lateralus? Maybe we should try and make more technical stuff liek that?!" ... "Hey, Meshuggah is pretty technical, lets steal off of them."

Sorry, I won't just listen to ANYTHING. Certainly Tool's new album is not worthy for such praise... but oh it's gonna get it from all the brainwashed fans... except the critics are going to beat this album into the ground. Casue they know what to look for... Yeah, I'm critical about music... Why shouldn't I be allowed to be critical? At least it's not like I'll like any shit my favorite band puts out just becasue it's my favorite band.

I dunno. So far, I like Vicarious. I'll wait and see like the rest of the world to find out if the 2nd of May yields a surprise two-disk album, or if that live DVD is ever going to show up, stuff like that.
Maybe not their best work, but better than Opiate at least. Still better than most shit I hear on the radio. If they've got a secret album in the wings I'll be all over it when it drops, but to be honest that sounds like a hell of a conspiracy theory, even for Tool.
Lateralus is a hard album to live up to. I'm seeing them on the 4th, I'll let you know if they've pulled it off.

Yeah, but Opiate was done in the beginning... after more then ten years of exponential growth, NOW they put out an albe that is "at least better then Opiate"? Think about it for a second... If they can't even live up to Undertow, how can they get close to Aenima or Lateralus? I hope there is another album... 10,000 Days doesn't cut it for me.
