I think clevemire's got the right idea, about god at least...as to the whole 'disaster' thing, most people who aren't directly involved with it won't care anyways. I was disinterested in 9/11, I watched maybe half an hour of it on the TV, then I ignored it. I caught up with the latest news via newspapers over the next few weeks...although there really wasn't much else NEW about it. but even now, years later, people remember it as 'the greatest american tragedy in history'. know what that means? IT MEANS THE TERRORISTS DID WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO DO. they committed a single act, and they are going to be remembered, reviled, and feared forever because of it.

and people never forget the bad shit that happens. I can remember when I was four years old, I rode a horsey-toy thing down a flight of stairs and put my head through a window. but I can't remember the name of the teacher who taught me to read, or any of my friends from kindergarten...why is it that humanity will remember the bad times, but the good are forgotten?

first, lets call them for what they really are, not hostage takers but radical islamic fundamentalists.

they held captive over 1000 people in that gymnasium, like you stated ghost with live explosives directly over them, trip wires and more explosives being set up; along with the terrorists brandishing their automatic weapons and suicide belts. the kids and adults were in horror, their eyes say it all.

lets look at who is doing this.. the chechans, they are bordered by russian region of Georgia, then that borders Turkey. the Islamic foothold is strong and the fundamental psychotic child killers have made their cause seem valid.

for along time in the chechan region of southern russia, during their 10 year revolution for indenpendance from russia, the new russian government (Putin and before) have practiced stalinist tactics of going into cities in the chechan region, kidnapping people while they slept, interrogating them by tortureous methods and very often end up killing the person and mutilating the body only to be found soon by a passerby or so, these are old methods from the czarist regime.

but does that give them the right to do what they did? blowing up 2 aircraft simultaneously, a sister of 1 of the female hijackers blows herself up by a moscow subway killing 10 more, then the school incident; all within a 1 month period in which the chechan elections were being held.

Now Putin is stating that Russia will liquidate any terrorist cells they find operating anywhere in the world, adding to the fight the USA and its allies are in.

I dont believe that any peaceful solution can be found, when they come down to blowing up children, then shooting the rest in the back as they flee to safety is one of the worst cowardly act man can do itself and the only way
to ensure they stop doing this is to take them out first, as they have stated they want to do to all the non-believers in Allah.

In regard to 'taking them out first' - YES. They have said many times they want to kill all non-believers of the west (predominately non muslim) because we dont worship Allah. In the many years of radical fundamentalism its been proven time after time that they dont care who they kill, as long as the bodies pile up and they get attention for their cause; wether its the world press or simply localized. USA had 9/11 3 yrs ago, whats it going to take a 9/12, 9/13, 9/14 then after 9/15 finally act out?
