Weak Root System
I'm having a major problem getting good root development. I was using Miracle Grow before they added that extra crap to feed for 3 months and I was getting wonderful results. Now I'm using Fox Farms organic soil mix with bat gauno and worm castings. My results are crap compared to the size and quality when I was using the old Miracle Grow. I have added hydrated lime to raise the ph to about 6.8 and added a good amount of perlite. My seeds germinate fine but after about a week the stalks are a brownish color and kind of curvey. Meaning they don't stand straight up some of the stalks have curves. I only water the plants when the soil is almost completely dry and I made sure I have good drainage at the bottom of the cups. Before after about 2 weeks my plants stalks were thick and the root system was growing vigorously now the stalks are skinny and the root system barely holds the dirt together. My routine was after they sprouted I put them under the flo's after about a week I gave them a little N tomatoe fertilizer and H202. The following week they go to the flowering room. I very fustrated because the only thing that has really changed is the soil. But I figured Fox Farm should do a better job than the MG. Is it the ph?

Weak Root System
How do I check the water ph? I have a soil ph test kit but not water. Why would the ph of the water suddenly change? I checked soil ph and it's between 6.5 and 6.8. I bought some root stimulator today hopefully that will help. I can't understand why my plants were growing so vigorously and now they are struggling. By the way thanx for the reply GK.

They sell very cheap water PH test kits at the Hydro store... 3-12 dollars
You can also get a test kit from Home Depot in there pool supply section.

this is a water ph tester
If you post some pictures I will be a ble to tell you what is wrong...
Are you over watering? Are you letting your soil dry out before you water?
