    Grow room question

OK my walls of my closet i am growing in are painted white but not flat white , its semi gloss and the wall texture is a little ruff not smooth for some reason , so my Question is everyone says flat white is the best , so what would be better right now for me leave it the way it is semi gloss on a not so smooth wall or cover all walls with foil? It is 3.5' x 3' x 7' tall with a 400w mh . I cant afford mylar right now thats why I am asking what is the best for right now...thank you all ...peace

    Hi
What kind of foil are you intending on using?
Paint is far from the best light reflector.
Mylar reflects around 97-98% of the light that hits it.
Mylar is a foil that comes in 1mil and 2mil thick rolls.
    I got a roll of 4.5FTX50FT 2mil thick for 40 bucks shipped.
You will need to shop around for good prices.
If you want to go with paint all white paints are good except for latex white paints.
Basically it depends on how much cash you are wanting to invest.
If you have 50 bucks you can afford to spend please get you some mylar it will give best results.
If money is tight then get some white gloss paint(if walls are rigid due to prior paint sanding walls would be advised.
If you are talking about reg tin foil please never use it the light reflected is less than light reflected from paint.

Never use foil or mirrors. Foil/mirrors do NOT reflect light, they absorb light, which is something lots of people dont think of.

It should be ok with the set up you got now, but if you must, get mylar.
