yeah, i took like 4-5 rips of this killer indi this past saturday. i was with like half a dozen friends and we were just all wobbly and laying in our dorm and my mom comes up and is like...."what is going on here...i was gonna bring you some food...but i think you will need more...." she was so confused. she told me we all just looked asleep. it was soo weird.

this doesn't make much sense if you weren't there, i mean the weirdness doesn't.

maybe i just won't post this.

Just thought I'd celebrate a little bit...Im sooo excited...not actually Im just pretty stoned :stoned:

For years, weâ??ve cataloged marijuana music in the pages of HIGH TIMES. Not only do musicians write better stoned, but readers also enjoy listening better high. Itâ??s that simple.

On Sept. 6, 2000, we hosted the Doobies, our first-ever awards show celebrating marijuana in music. At New Yorkâ??s now-defunct jam-band joint Wetlands Preserve, the Kottonmouth Kings were named Band of the Year and performed on a bill that included Dope, Charlie Hunter, David Peel, Atomic Bitchwax and the Cannabis Cup Band. A fully inebriated Jackie (the Joke Man) Martling emceed the five-hour Doobies marathon.

We scheduled the 2nd Annual Doobies for Sept.12, 2001. That show never took placeâ??we all know what happened on the morning of Sept. 11. We gave out awards to winners whenever they came through New York City during that devastating fall and winter.

With Wetlandsâ?? doors shuttered, we moved the 3rd Annual Doobies uptown to our new awards-show home at BB Kingâ??s in Times Square. On Sept. 25, 2002, Fear Factorâ??s Joe Rogan hosted a show that saw performances by Sean Paul, High on Fire, Black Moon, Lettuce, the Cannabis Cup Band and a reunion of the New Riders of the Purple Sage. One of the highlights that night was Dave Chappelle presenting Pot Song of the Year to Paul for â??Gimme the Light.â?�

With this issue, the Doobies returns as an awards presentation in the pages of HIGH TIMES. Next year, weâ??ll once again stage a full-fledged awards show. The winners of this yearâ??s Doobies are:
