even if that was true, the idea behind a democracy is that people get what they want. alcohol has no medical benefits (other than cleaning out your digestive system) and the people wanted it legal. it kills thousands, but that doesn't matter because legalizing it is democracy in action.

people that have no knowledge of marijuana should not vote against it just because of their ignorance. citizens have a responsibility to research before they vote. personally, i don't think anything should be illegal because of a moral standpoint (such as abortion, prohibition stuff, gay marriage--although i would prefer to call it something like butt budies)
