    Will the world end?

the earth will eventually be destroyed, but i think that humans will have left this planet and expanded throughout the universe long before that happens.

On April 26, 1986 the No. 4 reactor at the Chernobyl power plant (in the former U.S.S.R., present-day Ukraine) exploded, causing the worst nuclear accident ever.
30 people were killed instantly, including 28 from radiation exposure, and a further 209 on site were treated for acute radiation poisoning.
The World Health Organization found that the fallout from the explosion was incredibly far-reaching. For a time, radiation levels in Scotland, over 1400 miles (about 2300 km) away, were 10,000 times the norm.
Thousands of cancer deaths were a direct result of the accident.
The accident cost the former Soviet Union more than three times the economical benefits accrued from the operation of every other Soviet nuclear power plant operated between 1954 and 1990.

it was recently reported that there are at least 90000 cases of cancer or cancer deaths that have been a direct result of the radiation exposure that was as far reaching as scotland
I seriously doubt that the world will end in 10 years

if we dont kill all life forms on eath first.....
the sun is a star. all stars die. whn the sun dies, the earth will 'die' too. we need the sun to support our life systems on earth and keep us in an orbit. if the sun were to go out, we would lose the heat and light that we rely on. if it were to explode, the heat and matter and photons from the explosion would pummel the earth and probably destroy us. if it were just to disappear, we would spin out of orbit: we would probably collide with another planet, or we would gradually freeze to death.

of course it will, if nothing else, the sun IS on a limited source, and once it 'goes out' so will everything on this planet (assuming earth is still here) someday, it will end, maybe be millions of billions of trillions of years away, may be 2 days away, who knows, i do know that someday it will give out... just like everything else in this universe...

If humans left the Earth, they wouldn't be humans anymore, the only reason we have this form is because of the exact conditions of the earth, the strength of its gravitational field, the oxygen content, the climate (and these things change in the lifetime of the earth, and have caused major changes in natural selection). We are earthbound man, simple as.

Did you ever see the experiment where they took bird eggs in to space and they developed and hatched them there? They had like legs on there heads, and bulging eyeballs with wings coming out of there neck, and that was 1st generation offspring. When regular astronauts go up in to space they suffer not only muscle dystrophy, but also there bones begin turn to dust as they are depleted of calcium. Plus, they constantly have the sensation of free fall.

The fact you can only take a few hundred up, will fuck up the genepool, and more importantly, why would you wanna live on in space? have you seen space? that shit would get old really fast. After about 5 minutes of tossing ure drink in to the air and gulping it u'd begin to grow very fucking tired of tying every little thing down, oh yeh and ure in a tiny capsule, with an infinite sea of black to keep ureself entertained, with the occasional dot. Fuck living on, its not all its cracked up to be, especially if its without the earth/mobility, I can empathize with Hunter S Thompson for blowin his head off once he lost the freedom of his joints and shit in old age, I'm with him there

Oh yeh and travelling at the speed of light (186,000 miles per second), it wud take over 13 billion years to travel half the universe, the escape velocity of the earth ignoring, air resistance is 25,000 mph, and we struggle to get to this speed. If u wanna get to the nearest galaxy, it would take about 25,000 years travelling the speed of light, the human race has only been around for about 100,000-150,000 years tops, so it would take roughly, around abouts, 1/4-1/6 of the history of mankind, to get out of this galaxy, then u'd arrive on a planet u'd have to cultivate to be ure own, and u'd have legs growin out of ure nose, and u'd be more of a gelatinous blob, with none of the personality traits, characteristic of bein a human, since u wud av spent ure life in a metal box, in free fall, creating sum seriously different human brains, and logic.

So yeh man I suppose it could happen, but why would you want it too? Cuz all the shit that you enjoy, and find unique about being a human would be lost, if we embarked on an intergalactic mission. Unless we could actually start warping the fabric of space-time, and errrrrr we can barely operate, and calculate the consequences of machines that fuck around with energy transfer like nuclear reactors, and any mechanical device, let alone the very fabric of existance (which ironically, if we ever did, and a catastrophe happened, could actually cause the earth and all stellar bodies to collapse in on themselves, and we would end up destroying the earth by trying to save it, one day I'm gonna make a movie of this scenario starring the likes of the Hoff (ladies dig the Hoff), Adam West, William Shatner and Britney Spears, as a mismatched bunch, from different backgrounds, embark on a mission to find a planet suitable for life, but find something much more important..........themselves, with hilarious results  )

Ye I kno, but slow radiation poisonin doesn't have the same ring to it as.......DUUUUH DUUUUH DUUUUUUUUUUUUH VAPOURISED BY THE SUPERNOVA!!!!! plus the chances of a star exploding in an area close enuff to be destructive to the earths atmosphere is something like one every billion years or so, and even then it would need to be a really big star. But hey I was just tryin to get your attention

were either going to fuck it up ourselves pretty soon or the sun will burn out, which ever comes first

from what i understand, the sun has enough hydrogen to last atleast hundreds and hundreds of years to co me, if not millions... or atleast that's what i think i remember (it was a long time ago when i learned about this)

i was watching this show not long ago, and it showed how the sun will run out of hydrogen, or something, i wasnt really into the show.. and the sun will expand to 3 times it size(i think), and the outer 4 planets (i think) will engulfed by the sun, then all of a sudden, the sun will just shrink into nothing
