pestils at 5 weeks
Okay, if someone were growing and the pestils were just starting to turn amber after the 5th week of flowering.
Does this mean the buds are done growing? Or will they continue to increase in size?
Can one expect that the plant is now turning to THC production? Or will it still build bud size?
I know pestils are not the way to judge for harvest time, but they must mean something.
This person is keeping their eye on the trichs, still all clear.
I am just wondering about the grow cycle.

it's the right answer anyway. You don't harvest by pistils they tell you nothing but the plant is aging. Some will die off and some will not until the last week. You can only view trichome production to know when the proper time to harvest is.

Yeah, the pistilles do nothing. Dont worry about them, they are not important. The only thing that is important is the trichs, cos when they are cloudy/amber that is when THC is a maximum and that is when the flowering is over... So it was the right answer.

GUYS! LISTEN... please read my post BEFORE you answer.
I stated in my post
"I know pestils are not the way to judge for harvest time"
Just so I would not get a bunch of people telling me that pestils have nothing to do with harvest times.
I KNOW THAT!
My question has nothing to do with harvesting. OR trichs.
My question was simply:
"if someone were growing and the pestils were just starting to turn amber after the 5th week of flowering.
Does this mean the buds are done growing? Or will they continue to increase in size?
Can one expect that the plant is now turning to THC production? Or will it still build bud size?"
The rest was put in as a qualifier specifically so I would not get harvesting answers... because that is not my question.
I dont want to sound ungrateful, but please do not turn this into a thread about harvest times. I just wanted an answer to MY question if you know. Thanks

The buds can still grow after some pistils are turning brown, THC production is something that happens during the entire bloom not during a fase in bloom.

They will grow up to the last 2 weeks of flowering. The last 10 day's is when they pack on most of their weight and the Trichomes get the largest.
The only time the pistils have an effect on the size of the flowers is when they are pollinated and then the flower produces seeds.

Thanks!
I didnt know if I could expect the buds to still grow, now that the pestils are turning. They are pretty big, but it is always nicer if they get bigger!
Thanks again
