pull the plants and wash roots (if a dirt farmer) in a bucket of water, trim off fan leaves and hang for a day or so. then trim most of the rest of the leaves and break the plant down into branches and buds. hang the trimmed bud in a dry, dark place (closet) with plenty of room in between the flowers to keep air moving (a fan isn't nevessary tho)...i use clothsline and wire hooks. time to dry depends mostly on ambient humidity...out here in the desert they are smokable after 3 days but generally wait until the outside feels dry but the stems/branches are still green and won't break when bent. finish the trimming then put them into a container with a lid (think tupperware-style) and close loosely...open twice/day and gently turn then loosely reclose lid. after 3-4 weeks of doing this daily they should be dry (but still fresh) and well cured...ready to be stored in glass jars (think canning jars) in a dark, cool place.
