just failed a class
so today i was told that i would not pass a class simply because i didn't show up for 10 classes. i see there point but i dont at the same time simply because i had a C- if i would of been able to finish. i think its 100% bullshit that a class grade depends on class addentence. i dont know it was my choice i should of went instead of doing other stuff. whats everyone else think?

it sucks that each individual class is totally dependant upon your instructor. the instructor can make it as hard as he or she sees fit. seems a little unfair-but its college and being unfair is what universities do best. i graduated this past summer and to be honest i left w/ a bitter feelin about the system at my school.

yeah i think its bullshit also. I wish attendance didn't affect my grade
Most of my teachers suck at teaching and I learn most simply from doing the work myself and/or reading the assigned book. I had a class last semester where I showed up 5 days. 1st day of class, 3 test days, and the final. I got an A+. It was history. If I can skip all those days and come out with a better grade than 90% of the class....yeah. Some classes I can understand, such as public speaking and such. Can't exactly do a speech when your not there. but most attendance is utter bullshit.

I dont think its BS, the instructor most likely told you the rules, he also gave you a syllabus, its entirely your fault. It is his class and he teaches it the way he wants accept it and learn not to skip classes when you need to go to them.
