ive got pests - need help identifying

sorry for the noob question, i seem to have lost my link to pest control i had saved - it was a great site with pics and solutions. I checked the GrowFaqs, nil on the pest faq. i searched the site for "white spots underside", but nothing of interest. heres my deal:

i got home, checked out the scene and saw little white bugs flying about...specks of dust, they looked as if. i saw a couple of my leaves had white spots on the top of them, and i remember that being bad news. i checked under the leavs, and saw one little dark speck..i took him out between my fingers, and he left a dark brown smudge. i didnt see anything else on any of the leaves.

    please help!

From what you described I bet you have 2 problems going on.

Fungal gnats and spider mites both.

Just a guess from how you described the leaf.

It sounds to me like you got a white fly or fungal knat problem along with spider mites under your leaves.
Chances are if you got White Fly's ,you got Mites too.
You need to seal the room better. And get some Lady bugs in there or something.
I use praying Mantis's and lady bugs.
The Mantis lives and stays in the garden...I throw about 10 lady bugs in there every few days or once a week. The lady bugs eat any fungal knats that live And the Manis's eat the lady bugs along with the fungal knats.
But if I do get any pest problems, like mites or something, then most likely the good bugs will eat it before it lays to many eggs. And the bugs eat the eggs too. So as far as a percautionary system. They work really well.

If you do use a spray..I suggest Hot Pepper wax...or Neem Oil.
Zandor suggested the Hot Pepper Wax.
