Insurgents and Civilians... the number may be together [its still almost 200,000 and there arent that many insurgents there, they would have done more damage over if there were.... we only have 130,000 troops there... how many of our troops have died: around 2,500

God I love these articles. This was part of Operation Swarmer in which 1500 U.S. AND Iraqi soldiers did a raid on this area.....guess they forgot to mention the Iraqi soldiers and the fact that they picked up 48 insurgents AFTER a firefight. Did they also mention the WE flew in the reporters on the raid?

Now in an insurgent area, the police that side with the Iraqi government usually are found dead. The police left are either corrupt or self appointed...in this case, corrupt apparently since they were recognized authority by the Iraqi gov.

I don't know about you but if I had it in mind to have a shoot out with the army....I'd send the wife and kids off to her mothers house.
