1.) they can rip you off/ leave with the money
2.) there a middle man, real "dealers" always have product ready to distribute and don't need $$$ normally to go get it unless it's like a Quarter pound or more...

i go to my drug dealers trap house, ive been to many over the years, but this is a friend from highschool (alright theres good reason to trust, i know him). Now ive been buyen from him for 3 years solid now, everything from pounds to dimes, so i know hes good, and never once has he said, "gimme the cash ill call ya", its allways, ill get the shit, THEN ill call ya. cuz why? cuz he is a logical thinking human being, even a drug dealer, who droped out of hs, has no job, other then selling drugs, knows one of the most BASIC princples of bussniess.

Rule #1: How many times have you been ripped off by legal ventures? They're all over... expensive cell phones that look nice but don't work and then they sell for $15.00 once demand goes away. Capitalism thrives on turning the most profit through the least amount of cost (including controls and regulation).

Rule #2: Pot is uncontrolled and unregulated... it's just illegal. Al Capone (from booze prohibition days) would love this environment. He'd be a fucking gazillionare....

Rule #3: TELL the american congress to end weed prohibition... It's bad for business, and it's bad for government revenue and law enforcement priorities.

Well, smart guy, did you get your weed yet, or does some random dude out there still have your hundred bucks?

BTW, you just did in effect give money to "Joe Blow", since your initial contact had to hand over the deal to someone else. BTW, the only time he should be showing you grass is when it's the grass he's giving it to you to fulfill his end of the deal *in full*. If he gave you a few grams to tide you over, he's just trying to keep you quiet and hoping you'll forget about the whole situation. Other than that, you are still setting yourself up.

What you *should* do is call whoever you think has your money (there's no telling, now), and demand your money back immediately. Even better, just show up at the dude's house or work or wherever you know he is and say, "Don't worry about the deal. I'll just take my money back." Then, he won't have it on him because things have been so "crazy" and he had to give it to another dude so he could give you the hook up. Then, you have the option to either a) kick the shit out of the guy who just ripped you off and take whatever money he does have on him, b) kick the shit out of the guy, find out who and where the dude with your money lives and go kick *his* ass and get your money back, c) do nothing and wait for a call that has a slim to none chance of ever occuring.

If you go with options a or b, however, you will either end up in jail or getting your ass kicked instead, or worse. Ah, the typical cycle of trying to buy drugs. I've seen it happen plenty of times and been a part of that cycle more times that I can count and it always is a pain in the ass every time.
