I'm in so cal and the number of plants allowed should be the same anywhere in CA. I've never been to a club and don't intend to start going. Best thing to do is start going and tell us how it goes.

As far as getting clones from unknown sources, you risk getting bugs like spider mites. Not saying you will, just might.
