I know what you see when you're dead
Great thread, discussion of death is one of my favorite topics....
The concept of a Heaven, Hell, and Nothingness seems to easy for something as complicated as death. If we have fixed ideas of what comes with death then there isnt much need to think about it anymore. If you look at mother nature you can see that everything has opposites(day/night good/evil). Now if you look even closer you can see that each has transitional phases. Nature and time itself is always changing and it fluxs and ebb's and flows constantly. So essentially everything is ALWAYS in a state of something and what you see is the transition of one state to another.
You get into life from birth. You reach death in the phase of death. Now death is opposite to life so you can only die because you are living now, therefore couldnt you only get into life because you have been dead before???
This concept is the basis of reincarnation but I dont believe in the traditional reincarnation. I believe that your soul and mind are too completely different things. Your external body will be decomposed and returned to mother nature but your soul has a different agenda. To what its next purpose is, I cannot be sure. If something as simple as your phsyical body is returned to the earth after death then shouldnt something as complex and mystic as your soul be re-used/recycled??
You and I are the constant stream of consciouness that ebbs and flows through time.
