I know what you see when you're dead

That's because your eye won't turn as bad, and because trough your pupil you can't see everything. But you don't mind/see/feel the darkness that's outside the borders of your vision right?

Now, assuming when you're dead you're also brain dead, your brain is switched off and all impressions and senses have come to a stop. The blackness I just talked about is the only thing that you "see" or feel, which is absolutely nothing.

    IMHO.

    Or not?

I know what you see when you're dead

You don't know what happiness is, or sadness, or regret, or guilt, remorse etc etc. A big light at the end of the tunnel, or the room I'm sitting in now, the place I go when I let go every night, the shit I feel when I'm dreaming, the intoxication I feel from the drugs I take, which, I believe is pretty fuckin close to the ''real'' emotions (whatever that really means), or what "thing" contributes to the people I see or meet.

No answer any1 has ever given me, from any religion, or scientific documents about neurology, or physics or any answer I've desperately tried to formulate (and fuck me have I tried) has EVER even a little bit, gotten close to what must truly be going on (because you can find an unanswerable question, in all of them), simply because I don't really know what question it is I'm asking, all I do know for certain is that somethings goin on right now that defies explaination (try and imagine the moment where the present becomes the past, where the colourful image of the 'Here and Now' changes to the dull dream-like, flickering frames of memories).

To explain something you need a definitive ground, to relate ure explaination to, to make it relevant, in this case its the shit we're sitting in, and experiencing now, that is the basis of all our conclusions on pretty much everything, from good to bad, morale concepts, what death is, what life is. As I've posted before though, every1 believes there is a definite line between that which is consensus reality, and that which is ure own reality, when really, its a superposition. Your only link to the outside world, is through the apparatus, you have to sense it, but the apparatus you have to sense it, you didn't make, and it isn't personally ures (as in you didn't magic it up, all the shit that went in to making ure arms and legs was already there in that which seems totally abstract from you, and it will be, long after 'You' are dead), so where do you draw the line? Where the fuck does the "outside" world begin?, and the personna you have built up in ure head of ureself and ure general beliefs begin?

You're looking for a definitive universal answer, to something which is malleable, through a medium open to great interpretation (the music of WOOOOOORDS!!!), for every1 in the world (6.5 billion isn't it?), who, by the way, have all slightly differing opinions, which they necessarily don't believe to the letter of the law. But ure tumbling towards something, and you can keep thinkin that days go by and the next one will come along, and that sum imaginery signal is gonna be thrown up when its ure time to go, like its going to be a significant event, but its not, its gonna be like every other day, to everybody else in the world except you, it's fucking scary, and infinitely humbling, how complex reality really must be.

So I aint got a clue, and I don't take people who have had near death experiences any more seriously than I do drawing my own conclusions, because its there explaination, and interpretation of whats happened, NOT whats "really" happening, then people say to just ''be'' and stuff like that, without realizing what they are being now, or what the person wallowing in his/her own confusion is being, that ''being'' isn't necessarily the way to go, and won't always guarentee peace, well being, and oneness, because its not about that, turn ure documentary channels on and see the graceful gazelle, run his absolute bollox off, before getting ripped to shreds by a group of predators, or turn through the pages of history to see what humans really get up to without the consequence of a big brother state, and its fucked up (in comparison to what people actually believe humanity and there wants to be, a beautiful expression of artistic emotion).

Its not graceful, its not beautiful, its not peaceful, its not depressing either, it is what it is, which is all those things, depending on which window you look from, and there's no other way to put it, our trying to deal with it, and trying to be it or whatever you wanna call it, is a complete and utter waste of time, a meaningless detail, bcuz thats the point of being, you don't try, you become ure thoughts, whatever they may be. What a fuckin paradox! Mother Teresa fundamentally is no different from Adolf Hitler to the Godhead, cuz as we can see, both of them can live healthy lives, where they wake up morning after morning, yet have a totally different outlook, which they both equally justify to be correct.

The human mind is not as significant as every1 is trying to believe it to be, in that all problems could be resolved through understanding, because there are an infinite number of understandings you could ply ure brain with to justify the action, but the action is what is most important, and you can do any action you fucking want within physical boundaries, and the only reason its right/wrong depends on whether the consequences you suffer for ure actions, outweigh the pleasure gained to that specific individual.

So in conclusion blatitteeblaagooobaaaaaamonsack, thank you!!

I know what you see when you're dead

Great thread, discussion of death is one of my favorite topics....

The concept of a Heaven, Hell, and Nothingness seems to easy for something as complicated as death. If we have fixed ideas of what comes with death then there isnt much need to think about it anymore. If you look at mother nature you can see that everything has opposites(day/night good/evil). Now if you look even closer you can see that each has transitional phases. Nature and time itself is always changing and it fluxs and ebb's and flows constantly. So essentially everything is ALWAYS in a state of something and what you see is the transition of one state to another.

You get into life from birth. You reach death in the phase of death. Now death is opposite to life so you can only die because you are living now, therefore couldnt you only get into life because you have been dead before???

This concept is the basis of reincarnation but I dont believe in the traditional reincarnation. I believe that your soul and mind are too completely different things. Your external body will be decomposed and returned to mother nature but your soul has a different agenda. To what its next purpose is, I cannot be sure. If something as simple as your phsyical body is returned to the earth after death then shouldnt something as complex and mystic as your soul be re-used/recycled??

You and I are the constant stream of consciouness that ebbs and flows through time.

You seem alot like me, i didnt read your post but its really long, and the first paragraph sounds like how i feel the majority of the time (unless im drunk, then i am the center of the universe and my ego alone could crush peoples souls.....or at least thats what im thinkiing when im passed out in my own vomit)

but ANYWAYS the bottom line is when you die you die. You go back to GOd in the only sense that god exists which is basically energy. All god is is energy, also called zero point energy, i believe this field of energy that is everywhere at once is responsible for gravity. time. mater cohesion at sub atomic levels. But everything about your human existance is erased. To put it simply all that WE are, our personality, lives memories etc are all patterns of electricity and matter in the brain right? (now matter and energy are both the same thing, just in different states. I believe energy is just 'active' matter) So what happens to the electrical signals in your brain when you die? they go shooting off into space and return to the generic or unorganized, zero point field. so every time we use electricity, you're using the essence of life and conciousness. but energy isnt just electricity, there is also heat and kinetic energies as well as nuclear and solid state matter which can be converted to energy. but when you get released into the sea of energy the energy becomes unorganized and thus your concious mind would no longer exist. but there is nothing to say that when you die you dont take on a part of higher organization on the part of the whole.

or hell, who knows, we may just be universal storage containers and when were full of our experiences on earth some alien life form harvests us and collects what we've stored in our brains.

    anything is possible

oh you dont have to tell me about that, I've been eaten alive by tapistry that was hanging on a wall while on shrooms. was more entertaining to watch than it was scary though. you just gotta realize that when you do drugs you may realize things or even see things that are much MUCH bigger than you and will humle you if you even try to comprehend them.

out of all the hallucinogenic drugs ive done (wow growin up as a kid i dont think i EVER would have imagined myself doing all the crazy drugs ive done) but i liked shrooms the most, then acid then salvia then LSA.

but who doesnt love flying through space at 60 million/mph while sitting on your livingroom couch

Death is nothin to fear, just a normal part of life, everyone dies at some point.

a quote i picked up:- "Don't take life too seriously, no-one gets out alive anyway"
