Today, April 16, back in 1943 was the first acid trip in history. That is definately something to think about today. Dr. Albert Hofmann accidentily injested about 150 to 200 micrograms this day, then the first acid trip ever ensued shortly after. Then three days later, April 19, 1943, Dr. Hofmann took the first deliberate dose of acid and set out on the first voluntary acid trip with about 250micrograms. That is kinda surprising that no one else remembered this.

No the first intentional time was the 19th but he injested it around 4:20pm.

tbh, no one knows what 4/20 ACTUALLY means, or when Acid was actually made...

Just sit back and treat 4/20 as a cannabis celebration day, and 16th as acid day

there's lots of myths floating around on how 4:20 originally came about... the most believable and likely one i've heard yet: a bunch of college kids all had fluxiating schedules, they needed a time they could all get together, to smoke.... eventually they came up with 4:20 p.m. ...i've heard it from more than one place... which plays a role in why i think that it's the most likely one...

wasn't the dude that made acid, trying to find a way to turn soldiers into super-soldiers or some shit? i can't remember exactly why he started experimenting with what became acid, i recall it either being to turn soldier's into super-soldiers, to use it to interrogate POW's, or as a weapon...

i've always heard 420 was the police code for marijuana offence in cali or something, but i'm not straining myself too much to find out the truth.

Albert Hoffman discovered LSD totally by accident while working on a series of compounds in ergot or something, he was looking for certain kind of effects that had nothing to do with what LSD actually does, nothing to do with that military stuff either... can't remember what he thought it was going to do...

420 and bicycle day just happen to fall around the same time every year (of course) since the first ingestion was April 19th, and people decided somewhere along the line to celebrate 4:20 (time) and 4/20 (date) by smoking. And that's what it's called btw, BICYCLE DAY

because Hoffman rode his bike home from the lab tripping, it's a good story to read about sometime. People celebrate bicycle day (next Wednesday) by dropping acid. It will be a GOOD week, cause 4/20, bicycle day and Earth Day always come together
