    nutes and bubblers...?

Got a question for you gurus...

I am planning to use the bubbler method. MY question is: How do you fertilize the bubblers? Like after you do it the first time, do you just measure the nute levels then add more at some point or is it necessary to drain all the water and add fresh water and more nutes? Can you do this without an expensive digital meter? Usualy how often do you need to add more nutes?

You can grow with out the meter but I would not recommend it. Ph is way to important to not know what the number is. You can follow the label to mix your nutrients but Ph is another issue. If you don't know what your Ph level is then you are only asking for trouble. Ph papers are not accurate enough to give a good honest reading.

You should do full water and nutrient change every 7 to 10 day's. If the level drops to low in-between a full water change then you just add back Ph adjusted water to bring the water back to normal operating level.

If this is your first grow I suggest you grow a few times with dirt. Hydro is hard enough with the right equipment but to not have the proper equipment you are looking at a disaster just waiting to come to pass.

Good luck, hope it works out for you.

PJ, you got to get one of these...this is an in-expensive one...

as Z stated above, you have to have good ph...you can watch your ppm's by not over doing mixes, but ph can be tricky...shop around, but you won't find a better deal than the one above to get you started...If you miss this one, check sellers other items and he might have a full stock of them. hope this helps. lw

I am getting a PH meter. And since I already planned for a hydro grow, and have purchased some of the equipment already, I am just gona go ahead with it.

I find hydro to be simple, if you keep it simple.
Don't try to grow too many plants the 1st time. Keep it small and learn how they grow, you will see fast efficient growth. The one thing you don't want on your 1st grow is a jungle! I had a jungle...I was happy at the end, but lost 7 plants to newbie mistakes/experimentation(doing things you are told not to do, for experience/research).

Goodluck. keep us posted. You have reputable growers/cdot members interested in your project. Z and WS
are 2 excellent mentors, IMHO. you can trust their advice.

Generally Z will allow everyone to try and advise and only chimes in, if no-one helps you or someone gave you bad advice. Goodluck lw
