Simple. The same reason a unicorn skeleton never will be found.. they're mythical creatures.
i'm not usually a 'what if' person, but i want to put out some insight... dragons, from what i've known are roughly the size of dinosaurs... for all anyone knows, they've just been mistaken as some type of large dinosaur, and every few years for awhile back they were finding new and new dinosaurs, that they never even knew existed before, who's to say we just haven't found them, yet?

then again, maybe for along time dragons were just a representation of satan? or something of the like, a myth to scare people into being good people... think about it, some all powerful angel-demon that can torture for ever, is just about as menancing as something 20x your size with razor sharp teeth, claws, can fly and shoot fire out of it's mouth..
