As for the few people who did think the earth was flat, it was only because the evidence was hard for them to see. But I think anybody who's seen a volcano will conclude that it the lava had to come from some really hot place deep below the ground.
ok i guess that makes sense... i don't have a very large base of knowledge from that long ago, i just know the basic history you're forced to learn in school.. so i had thought that they thought the world was flat... never knew the greeks were smarter then that... so i guess tha'ts a logical asnwer..
